Must Have Camping Gear

We have been camping for years. From sleeping in our Jeep Wrangler, to tents, to camper life. Boondocking, resorts, national parks. We’ve done it all. You 100% can go camping with whatever you already have. But we’re gear heads! We love gearing up to go and trying out new stuff. Here are some of our current favorites! The links will take you to Amazon for more information and pricing.

Hest Mattress

The older we get, the more we prioritize comfy sleep. Hands down, Hest are THEE best camping mattresses we have ever slumbered on. As seen here, they aren’t the most backpacking friendly due to their size. But for car camping, camper life, glamping, even for guests at home they are so comfortable.

All the Lights

Camping for me is all about cozy vibes. Lights are the easiest way to transform your campsite. Also, extremely practical! We have a lot of various lights, but some of our current go-to’s are:

After a day of adventures, there isn’t much that can beat a relaxing chair to stretch out in. They are also perfect for a backyard BBQ, kids soccer game, we’ve even used them ice fishing. We have tried many camping chairs over the years and so far nothing beats Helinox. They are a buy it nice or buy it twice value. 100% worth it.

Anything Snowpeak

Mug

IGT Table

Tongs

Plates

Snowpeak might be our favorite camping brand of all time. Everything we’ve invested in from them has been so useful and again, the best vibes. We even use our IGT table to cook on our deck at home!

Pee Cloth

Ladies, this one is for you. If you’re anything like me you pee a lot. Especially in airplane mode when you are probably hiking for miles in the sun, biking, or paddle boarding. You need to stay hydrated, but usually there isn’t a bathroom for miles. Enter the Kula Cloth. The sustainable, easy to use replacement for toilet paper.

Hammock

Reading, sleeping, relaxing. Everything is better in a hammock. We love our ENO DoubleNests. Lightweight and spacious. We also have spacers that let us use the same two trees for us to hang side-by-side. And finally bug nets are a must have if you plan on sleeping in your hammock overnight.

These days we mostly use our JetBoil for making coffee. It’s also great for quick meals when all you need is boiling water. But for us, one of life’s greatest pleasures is having a slow morning at camp; making coffee and sipping it while enjoying the view. My current obsession are these pour over packets. So simple, easy, and delicious.
